Because of our growth, we are looking for an Audit/Assurance Senior to help lead audit, review, and compilation engagements, ensuring compliance with GAAP, GAAS, and firm policies.
Overview
The Audit Senior will play a pivotal role in executing assurance engagements, guiding junior staff, and ensuring high-quality service delivery to clients across a range of industries. This role offers the opportunity to work with a supportive, innovative team dedicated to professional growth and client success.
Responsibilities
-Engagement Leadership: Lead audit, review, and compilation engagements, ensuring compliance with GAAP, GAAS, and firm policies. Direct fieldwork, supervise staff auditors, and ensure timelines are met.
-Client Interaction: Serve as the primary contact for assigned clients, addressing inquiries and providing insights on audit findings and industry best practices.
-Technical Expertise: Apply advanced understanding of accounting principles and auditing standards to identify potential issues. Conduct risk assessments, design audit procedures, and verify financial statements.
-Mentorship: Provide training and mentorship to junior staff, fostering their professional development and technical skills.
-Documentation and Review: Prepare and review audit workpapers, financial statements, and other client deliverables. Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with regulatory standards.
-Internal Control Assessment: Evaluate clients' internal control systems, recommend improvements, and document findings to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
-Project Management: Efficiently manage multiple engagements simultaneously, from planning through final reporting, while maintaining strong client relationships.
Qualifications
-Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA certification preferred.
-Experience: Minimum of 3 years in public accounting with a focus on audit or assurance. (preferably construction industry experience)
-Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Peachtree, or similar). Familiarity with audit software and advanced Excel skills preferred.
-Soft Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and excellence.
Teamwork: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to evolving client needs.
