Controls Engineer

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to design, implement, and maintain complex control systems for our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in robotics and automation, with experience in troubleshooting and optimizing electrical and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop control systems for automated machinery and equipment
Create and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics
Perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve system issues
Monitor and optimize control systems for efficiency and performance
Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical and mechanical systems
Implement safety protocols, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures
Commission new equipment and systems, ensuring they meet operational specifications
Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of existing control systems
Prepare and maintain documentation, including Bill of Materials and control schematics
Utilize CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) for design and layout of control panels

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field
Proven experience as a Controls Engineer in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of PLC programming and HMI development (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron, etc.)
Experience with robotics and automation systems (Fanuc, Motoman, ABB, etc.)
Familiarity with SCADA systems and factory automation software (FactoryTalk, Wonderware, etc.)
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Proficient in CAD software for electrical design (AutoCAD electrical, etc.)
Knowledge of UL, NEC standards, and safety regulations
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
