Job Title: Defense Attorney (Toxic Torts)

Physical Office Location: Torrance, CA. 

Remote Work Policy: We allow our employees to be primarily remote, but some office time per month is highly preferred.

Salary: $160k-$180k/yr

Required Experience: At least 3 yrs of recent toxic torts experience (ideally silica, but asbestos is good), over 5 years of defense litigation in general.



Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Litigation Attorney specialized in Toxic Torts to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will handle complex litigation cases involving toxic tort claims, including asbestos and silica exposure. The role requires a strong understanding of tort law and the ability to effectively advocate for clients in court while managing all aspects of the litigation process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in toxic tort litigation cases, including those related to asbestos and silica exposure.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis of tort law and related statutes.
  • Draft legal documents, including complaints, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Prepare and present cases in court, including trial preparation and strategy development.
  • Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and insurance companies.
  • Collaborate with expert witnesses and other professionals to strengthen cases.
  • Stay updated on relevant legal developments and changes in toxic tort law.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on toxic torts.
  • Strong knowledge of tort law, particularly related to asbestos and silica exposure.
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
