Job Title: Safety Coordinator - Construction  - Safety Audits
Job Location: Grand Rapids, MI 
Salary: Competitive Salary DOE, Benefits, 401k Match, Bonus Potential 
Requirements: 2+ Years' Safety Construction Experience 

Position Overview
The Safety Coordinator - Construction will be responsible for overseeing and implementing safety protocols and procedures on construction sites. The primary objective is to ensure a safe work environment for all employees and compliance with safety regulations, thus minimizing the risk of accidents and injuries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
  • Perform hazard identification and risk assessments to proactively address potential safety issues
  • Develop and implement safety training programs for all construction personnel
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections to evaluate the effectiveness of safety measures
  • Create and maintain safety management systems that meet industry standards
  • Assist in emergency response planning and drills to prepare for potential incidents
  • Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all personnel
  • Collaborate with project managers to integrate safety into all construction processes
  • Stay updated on relevant safety legislation and best practices in construction safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field
  • Proven experience in a safety coordinator role within the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and safety audits
  • Experience in developing and delivering safety training programs
  • Familiarity with safety management systems and compliance requirements
  • Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., OSHA, CSP) is preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with teams
  • Strong analytical skills for incident investigation and risk management
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Commitment to promoting a culture of safety on construction sites.
